On a critical hit, a random effect from the Rod of Wonder or Deck of Many Things (GM’s choice at creation time) item is generated by the weapon.

+1 Favor

The weapon grants its holder the use of “Second Chance” once per day.

+2 Favor

On any hit, the weapon deals a random damage type, per the Wild Magic damage type table (PHB2: 137).

+3 Favor

The weapon grants its holder the use of “Second Chance” one additional time per day.

-1 Favor

The weapon functions as a normal +2 Longsword for the purposes of critical hits.

-2 Favor

The weapon functions as a +1 Longsword instead of +2.

-3 Favor

The weapon functions as a normal +1 Longsword. It no longer functions as a Sorcerer Implement.

Second Chance

Immediate Interrupt

Trigger: You or an ally fails a saving throw.

Effect: Reroll the saving throw, and use the second result, even if it is lower.

Bio:

Created by the insane mage Sular Tremspit, this blade can be activated to perform as a Rod of Wonder or Deck of Many Things (GM’s discretion) once per day. The weapon is utterly insane, imbued with the insane Drow lust for power of its creator. It functions as a Sorcerer Implement. The sword was created out of the heirloom blade Sunwrath after its capture by the Troglodyte Skalmad.

The weapon grows favors its holder more when they perform insane or counterproductive actions. Lawful and logical courses of action make the weapon’s power dim.
